QTO – This morning, June 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, the startup Ca Men and LNS International Joint Stock Company held a signing ceremony for the exclusive distribution of Quang Tri snakehead fish porridge and other packaged products from Ca Men in the U.S. market. This marks the first time that snakehead fish porridge, a specialty dish from Quang Tri, has been exported on a large scale through official channels.
According to the signed agreement, LNS will transport the snakehead fish porridge and other Ca Men products by sea and distribute them in the U.S. market.
It is expected that LNS will distribute millions of Quang Tri snakehead fish porridge products annually. Ca Men is a startup project founded in 2015 by Nguyen Duc Nhat Thuan, with the desire to bring Quang Tri cuisine to people far and wide.
To date, Ca Men has delivered millions of delicious, high-quality meals with the authentic flavors of Quang Tri to diners, including dishes such as Phuong Lang wet cakes, snakehead fish porridge, duck porridge, shredded chicken with Vietnamese coriander, stir-fried eel noodles, and more.
June 2022 marked a significant turning point for Ca Men as it began operating in two fields simultaneously: on-site food service and packaged products. Ca Men launched a packaged snakehead fish porridge product weighing 230 grams, small and convenient. The packaged snakehead fish porridge includes ingredients such as whole filets of snakehead fish, rice flour noodles, concentrated sauce, fermented shrimp paste with chili, and dried scallions, allowing consumers to prepare a bowl of porridge with the rich flavors of Quang Tri.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Duc Nhat Thuan stated that in the context of ongoing economic difficulties and declining exports, the fact that startups like Ca Men are securing large export orders is a positive signal. This not only creates jobs for Ca Men staff in Ho Chi Minh City but also for farmers directly producing for Ca Men in Quang Tri province. Additionally, this success motivates other startup projects in the production sector to overcome challenges and seek international orders.
According to LNS President and Founder Nguyen Thi Kim Huyen (Jolie Nguyen), the strategic partnership between Ca Men and LNS is a significant milestone that will help LNS fulfill its mission of bringing Quang Tri specialties closer to Vietnamese people in the U.S. and other countries. It is known that Ca Men’s snakehead fish porridge has also been certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
